Jeffrey R. Zehe is a partner with Nielsen, Zehe & Antas, P.C. and concentrates his litigation practice in the areas of subrogation, casualty defense, the defense of various professionals and first-party property defense. Mr. Zehe specializes in professional malpractice defense including municipalities, school districts, lawyers, construction professionals, insurance executives, real estate brokers, and corporate directors and officers. Mr. Zehe’s practice also includes the defense of corporate management against an array of employment liability and ERISA claims. On the plaintiff’s side, he has prosecuted several multimillion dollar subrogation lawsuits across the country.
Mr. Zehe was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University of Chicago and a Juris Doctor Degree from DePaul University College of Law.
After seven years’ experience in the public sector as an Assistant State’s Attorney trying felony cases on behalf of the Cook County State’s Attorney, Mr. Zehe joined the private practice. During his varied practice, Mr. Zehe has successfully tried several multi-million dollar cases to defense verdict on behalf of his clients. These were tried in various jurisdictions including, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
In subrogation matters, he has also won large multi-million dollar verdicts. In fact, in 2007, Mr. Zehe won a $63 million verdict involving a collapsed warehouse in Wisconsin; one of the 100 largest verdicts in the country.
