Betsy Grover concentrates her practice on various areas in casualty, commercial and insurance related litigation. She focuses on the litigation of medical malpractice, professional liability and product liability claims, as well as construction, transportation and premises disputes. An experienced litigator, Betsy has litigated, as lead counsel, numerous jury trials to verdict in Cook and surrounding counties. Betsy has also served as lead counsel for more than 100 arbitrations and routinely represents clients at mediation.

Prior to joining Nielsen, Zehe, & Antas, Betsy was with a Chicago firm that services insurers and businesses throughout the United States and around the world. She has represented domestic and international clients. Betsy also has experience in the areas of liability issues such as personal injury, premises liability, employee dishonesty, mortgage fraud cases and dram shop cases. In addition, Betsy has handled cases involving discrimination, school suspensions and claims involving physical and sexual abuse.


Representative Matters:
Obtained defense verdict for plastic surgeon in a medical malpractice case involving permanent facial scarring following a brow lift procedure.

Obtained defense verdict for three gastroenterologists following death of a 58-year-old woman from mesenteric ischemia.

Obtained directed verdict for on-call general surgeon in a case of a 56-year-old patient who bled to death in the emergency room.

Obtained defense verdict for ENT surgeon following the death of a patient who exsanguinated after neck surgery.
