Craig M. Antas is a Senior Partner and the President of Nielsen, Zehe, & Antas PC. Mr. Antas’ practice includes fire and explosion litigation, representing both the plaintiff and defense interests. He has specialized in product liability, construction law, and contract litigation as well.

During the past 30 years, Mr. Antas has been involved in some of the largest and most catastrophic fire / explosion cases in the United States including the Fairbank Farms fire in New York, Meridian Bancorp High Rise fire in Philadelphia, Chesapeake Cold Storage fire in Maryland, Central Storage & Warehouse fire in Wisconsin, and the 69 W. Washington fire in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Antas has recovered over $50 million dollars for his clients in property subrogation cases and has had the distinction of obtaining the largest recovery in the history of three of his insurance company clients.

Due to his expertise and reputation in fire litigation, Mr. Antas was appointed as Counsel to the 69 West Washington Commission, headed by former White House Counsel and Court of Appeals Justice Abner Mikva, to lead the investigation into that tragic incident. Mr. Antas and the Commission rendered a final report which made over 30 recommendations that changed Chicago fire department procedures and codes which dramatically increased safety in high rise building occupancies.

In addition to his insurance litigation practice, Mr. Antas also represents businesses in transactional matters, including contract and commercial litigation, and monitoring ongoing litigation as coordinating counsel.

Mr. Antas resides in a western suburb of Chicago with his wife. In addition to being a member of the Union League of Chicago, Mr. Antas is passionately interested in soccer, traveling, art, wristwatches, and wine.
