Patrick Hess is a Partner at Nielsen, Zehe & Antas, P.C. Mr. Hess concentrates his litigation practice on cases involving significant property damage. He frequently represents property insurers and owners in their efforts to recover damages resulting from fires, explosions, floods and other covered casualties. In 2016, Mr. Hess recovered more than $5,800,000 for the firm's clients and, since joining the firm in 2001, he has recovered nearly $100 million dollars.

Mr. Hess has significant experience in cases involving the design, manufacture/construction and maintenance of products, buildings and building systems. He has litigated cases in more than 30 states, ranging from a restaurant fire in Ohio, to a wild-land fire in California, to an explosion at a cattle ranch in Colorado. He has tried cases in California, Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri, including several trials lasting longer than four weeks. He has argued appeals before and federal courts. In 2007, Mr. Hess and partner Jeffrey Zehe obtained a $63,335,000 judgment in favor of their client in the Wisconsin construction defect/product liability case of Quad/Graphics, Inc., et. al v. HK Systems, Inc., et. al. He has spoken to industry group on a variety of litigation topics, including the economic loss doctrine, spoliation of evidence and municipal self-insurance pools.

Mr. Hess lives in Oak Park, Illinois, with his wife Stacey and their three children. He is an active volunteer in church and youth sports activities.
